Summary[edit]

Description
English: Damaged Interior of Prince Arthur's Chantry The chantry had been adorned with kings and saints. Prayers for the soul of the prince would be said here daily. After Henry VIII died his son King Edward VI reigned 1547 - 1553 and the church turned towards the protestant extreme. Rood screens were removed and "the commissioners" defaced chantries. The second Chantries Act banned all prayers for the souls of the dead.
