This is one of the phoenixes (caissons) that was constructed for the Mulberry harbor that was used at Normandy. This particular one was part of the British Mulberry harbor (Mulberry B). The American artificial harbor was destroyed shortly after D-day in a storm. Location is Normandy, France |
