| Description |
English: The Czech Republic deposited on June 2, 2022, its instrument of accession of the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications ("Geneva Act") with WIPO Director General Daren Tang (right).
The instrument of accession was deposited by Ambassador Václal Bálek (left), Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva The Geneva Act provides producers of quality products linked to origin, with faster and cheaper access to the international protection of their products' distinctive designations. It further develops the legal framework of the Lisbon System, which helps promote many globally marketed products such as “Bohemia Crystal” (glass product), “Český Porcelán” (porcelain), or “Kraslické Krajke” (hand-made lace), to name only a few.
