Summary[edit]

Description
English: This dazzlingly detailed punch set, produced by the Compagnie des Verreries et Cristalleries de Baccarat, won a grand prize at the 1867 Exposition Universelle de Paris in the competition among French glazers. The eye-catching shading techniques used in creating the images of drinking and revelry are owed to the then-newly innovated acid-etching technique. As seen in the "35 Centuries of Glass" gallery during a March 2022 visit to the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York.
