English: The coat of arms is divided into two parts: on the sinister, the coat of arms of Pope Benedict XVI – the shell of St. Augustine, the bear of St. Corbinian and the Crowned Moor of Freising, that Ratzinger was an expression of universality of the Church; and on the dexter, the dragon on a blue field with the Star of Bethlehem – is a clear Marian reference. The dragon is used in heraldry to represent loyalty, vigilance and valor. But in ecclesiastical heraldry it represents the dragon which fought against St George. The fire-breathing dragon faces the "home" of the Pope, but was pierced by a lance coming from the star of Bethlehem. The motto is "Testimonium perhibere veritati" – Make witness to the truth
