Summary
[edit]DescriptionChurch Hill (A170) - geograph.org.uk - 437984.jpg |
English: Church Hill (A170). This photograph is looking westerly, 'down' Church Hill toward the centre of the village and was taken from the raised pavement on the northern side of the street near the 438145 (ahead) to All Saints http://www.freewebs.com/thorntondale/thorntondale.htm church.
At this point the raised pavement is, perhaps, some 2½metres above the level of the road and is reached, from road level, by the 438142 in the picture. According to the OS Map the viewpoint for this photograph is on High Street. However a photograph, taken from the other side of the road, of 438119 shows that the viewpoint is on Church Hill. I have made the assumption therefore, that from the viewpoint east is High Street and from the viewpoint west is Church Hill. For another photograph taken from approximately the same viewpoint but looking in the opposite direction (easterly 'up' High Street), click here 437969. For a more westerly (ahead) photograph of Church Hill, click here 438737. |
