Summary[edit]

Description
English: Chelsea Wharf, SW10 Contrasting buildings are on display here. The original Chelsea Wharf building, with its name picked out in relief in the orange band at the top, is on the left. In the centre is a newly built structure that also forms part of the Chelsea Wharf development, while to the right, and set back about 150 metres from the river, is one of the tower blocks on the World's End Estate. The riverside frontage of Cremorne Gardens is to the right of the centre building. The Chelsea Wharf buildings have been converted into offices, studios and workshops, and the Chelsea Wharf website is here http://www.chelseawharf.com/home.htm

The 1874 Edition of the Ordnance Survey mapping shows a maze, probably part of the Ashburnham Hall estate and the original Cremorne Gardens, where the Chelsea Wharf building is now, but by 1896 the whole river frontage is shown as developed with four large wharves sticking out into the river.

This view was taken from the Battersea side of the River Thames.
