Français : Dans la Vieille Douane à Châtel en Haute-Savoie, un dessin réalisé par Jérôme Phalippou représentant la pompe à essence du Curé Milloux, ici s'apprêtant à faire le plein pour une Peugeot 202. Au cours de la Seconde guerre mondiale, l'essence manque et le retour à la normale, après les hostilités, se fait difficilement. Les restrictions exigent l'émission de bons d'essence afin de limiter la consommation sur le territoire français. C'est dans ce contexte que le curé Milloux, en poste à Châtel depuis 1942, ouvre sa propre pompe à essence dans le village, juste devant la maison des Vallets. Hélas pour lui, le retour progressif à la normale en matière d'approvisionnement, ajouté à la proximité des stations-service de Morgins, firent de son installation la moins rentable de toutes !
English: In La Vieille Douane (the Old Customs House) in Châtel in Haute-Savoie, a drawing by Jérôme Phalippou representing Curé Milloux's gas pump, here preparing to fill up for a Peugeot 202. During the World War II, there was a lack of petrol and it was difficult to return to normal after the hostilities. The restrictions require the issuance of fuel vouchers in order to limit consumption on French territory. It's in this context that the priest Milloux, stationed in Châtel since 1942, opened his own petrol pump in the village, just in front of the Vallets house. Unfortunately for him, the gradual return to normal in terms of supply, added to the proximity of the Morgins service stations, made his installation the least profitable of all ! |
