Summary[edit]
DescriptionCell cycle (5 stages of mitotic cell life).jpg |
English: The cell cycle. These pictures are made of nucleated blood cells (progenitors), they really like to mitose, so with keen eye we can find every cell phase. I included only obvious stages (not dividing to M0,M1,S,M2, etc), and used filter, because the microscopes which I operated have different color schemes (you can see 1, 2/3 and 4/5 are pictures of three separate microscopes). Here is short description of each phase/why I chose this cell:
1.Interphase. Simple. Every induced cell (aka lymphocyte, neutrophile, monocyte) stuck in interphase for rest of its short life (unless lymphocyte is commited to memory cell), or this cell cannot reproduce. On this picture is basophilic erythroblast. Very black nucleus. A commited cell. 2.Prophase. Difficult. You cannot divide M2/Prophase, unless it's a prometaphase. However, any chromatic pattern which is not smooth might be related to prophase (or apoptosis/necrosis). This cell doesn't seem to have any damage to it, and you see on the left side of nucleus two dark purple lines of chromosome assembly. It's a myeloblast. 3.Metaphase. There is no nucleus. You can see big chromosome cluster in the center of the cell with beautiful (or faggoty) pinkish/purplish cytoplasm. Promyelocyte. 4.Anaphase. Cromatides are divided in each corner. This is yet one cell. Another myeloblast. 5.Telophase. Basicly you have a brief moment between the cell dividing and two random cells being close. In this case, a promyelocyte (mother cell on a left) is shown to be ending the mitose cycle. Nice catch.English: The product of leukemia cytology research |
