Description
A gift to the naval officer George Jacobsen, who served as yacht captain to king Christian IX. With this painting Locher was thanking Jacobsen for lending him a summer house on Trouvillevej in Hornbæk. The ships shown were the major vessels of the Royal Danish Navy, led by the Helgoland. Also in 1892, Locher made a much larger version of this view, bought by the Art Museum in Aalborg in 1900, See "Other versions".
