| Description |
English: This is a view of the slight incline of the shorter ramp of one of the steel and concrete constructions built by the Nazis in France to launch pilotless planes against Britain. Part of the track is seen uncovered with camouflags grass removed. The main ramp of the construction os 700 to 750 feet long, 50 feet thick and 70 feet wide with a slight elevation pointing 10 degrees north of due west. An extention joins it at right angle and is 300 feet long, 120 feet wide and 36 feet deep.The installation was captured by American troops of the Allied Expeditionary Force advancing through Normandy toward Cherbourg. NOT FOR USE IN BRITISH ISLES OR WESTERN HEMISPHERE. |
