Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Canon PowerShot SX720 HS pocket digital camera with a home-made sun filter mounted on the lens for solar photography. The filter was created from a cut-up pair of eclipse glasses. CAUTION: Imitation of this dangerous configuration must be performed with extreme care to prevent instant, permanent blindness when photographing the sun, and to prevent destruction of the camera's image sensor by intensely-focussed sunlight. The jury-rigged filter must be held in place manually with great care while photographing the sun to prevent the naked lens from transmitting magnified, unfiltered sunlight to the photographer's eye. The entire lens must be completely covered by the filter. EXTREME CARE IS ESSENTIAL TO PREVENT INSTANT AND PERMANENT BLINDNESS.
