The new firm will handlecontractors supplies, reinforcing ma-terial, valves, factory equipment, etc. Increased Chilean Copper Output.— Reports from Chile show that the outputof the copper mines during 1916 was thelargest in the history of that country,the exports of 1916 being 58,000 tons offine copper in bars, something over 4,000tons in concentrates, and over 9,000 tonsof ores. The United States imports ofcopper from Chile in 1916 were 77,000,-000 pounds of pigs and ingots against36,000,000 pounds in 1915, and 24,000,000pounds in 1914, while the copper con-tent of the ore and matte from Chile was44,500,000 pounds, against 33,435,000pounds in 1915, and 30,563,000 pounds in1914.
