This remarkable oldtimer came from the Maynard Bixby collection, turn of 1900s, to Chicago Field Museum. (see the purchase note on the museum's accession card!). They essentially liquidated their museum collection to Dave Crawford in the late 1980s, and he sold it to Ed, so we have the whole trail from 1905 til now, of ownership. it was probably found when Utah wasnt even a state. its the largest i have seen, best i have seen, and only good one i have seen for sale beyond a small specimen. Truth be told, I am thinking of trimming in half to keep one half as profit and i bet the other half would still probably go for the same 5000. These just are NOT around to be had, it is big, and it is pretty after all.
