WAHRSCHEINLICH WAR ER EIN GEFOLGSMANN DES KÖLNER ERZBISCHOFS. DENN SEINE BURG ROSENAU PASSTE AUFFÄLLIG GUT IN DAS BURGENSYSTEM, DAS MIT ROLANDSECK, GODESBURG, DRACHENFELS UND WOLKENBURG DIE SÜDFLANKE DES ERZSTIFTS SCHÜTZTE. IN EINEM VERTRAG VOM NOVEMBER 1243 VERKAUFTE AGNES, DIE WITWE DES DIETRICH VON ROSENAU, DIE BURG AN DAS KLOSTER HEISTERBACH. DIESEM WURDE AUSDRÜCKLICH DAS RECHT AUF ZERSTÖRUNG DER BURG ZUGESICHERT. NACHDEM IM JAHRE 1249 EIN ZWEITER VERKAUFSVERTRAG GESCHLOSSEN WURDE, WEIL EINE SCHWIEGERTOCHTER DER AGNES VON ROSENAU EINSPRUCH ERHOBEN HATTE, WURDE DIE BURG UM 1250 AUF GEHEISS DES KLOSTERS HEISTERBACH ZERSTÖRT. DIE RESTE WURDEN 1990/1991 MIT HILFE DER IG BERGBAU UND ENERGIE, DES LANDES NORDRHEIN-WESTFALEN UND DER STADT KÖNIGSWINTER GESICHERT. HEIMATVEREIN SIEBENGEBIRGE 1994. |
