For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Ernte, Blick auf einen LPG-Dreschplatz Zentralbild Gering 20.8.1964 Ditfurt. Kreis Quedlinburg Bis zum Wochenende wollen die Genossenschaftsbauern der LPG "Fortschritt" die Getreideernte abschließen. Um den durch das Wetter eingetretenen Rückstand aufzuholen und die Körnerverluste niedrig zu halten, dreschen die Genossenschaftsbauern das auf Hocken gestellte Getreide unmittelbar auf dem Feld. Bis in die späten Abendstunden wird pausenlos gearbeitet und das gedroschene Getreide sofort zur Ablieferungsstelle der VEAB transportiert. Durch das Dreschen unmittelbar auf dem Feld werden weitere Auswuchsschäden des Getreides verhindert und die Gewähr für die Ablieferung von qualitätsmäßig einwandfreiem Brotgetreide gegeben.
