For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Landsberg, LPG, Umbau zu einem Stall Zentralbild Schmidt 5.9.1960 Zum 8. Plenum des ZK der SED-Mehr Eier durch Intensivhaltung - Über 211.000 Legehennen werden gegenwärtig von den sozialistischen Landwirtschaftsbetrieben des Bezirkes Halle intensiv gehalten. Allein 3 025 Hühner hat bisher die Groß-LPG "Vereinte Kraft" in Landsberg (Saalkreis) in einer ehemaligen Zuckerfabrik in sogenannten Käfigbatterien untergebracht. Täglich verlassen seitdem 1 400 bis 1 600 als "Trinkeier" gekennzeichnete Eier die LPG in Richtung Bezirkshauptstadt. Schon ab Februar nächsten Jahres will die LPG Landsberg täglich dreimal soviel Eier auf den Markt bringen. Die 3.000 Hennen der Intensivhaltung werden gegenwärtig noch von einer Ganz- und einer Halbtagskraft betreut. UBz: Auch in dieser alten Zuckerfabrik sind bereits die Handwerker und in kurzer Zeit wird die LPG weitere Etagen für die Hühnerintensivhaltung einrichten können.
