For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, "Goldener Reiter", Reiterstandbild August des Starken Zentralbild Braun 6 Motive 2.2.1955 Zum 10.Jahrestag der Zerstörung Dresdens am 13.2.1955 Der mörderische Angriff der anglo-amerikanischen Bombenflugzeuge am 13.2.1945 ließ die weltberühmte Kulturstadt Dresden in Schutt und Asche sinken. Dresden entsteht neu, modern, aber in alter architektonischer Schönheit. UBz: Dieser goldene Reiter, der einst auf dem Neustädter Markt stand, soll demnächst wieder aufgestellt werden. Nach seiner Restaurierung hat er bisher seinen Platz im Albertinum gefunden.
