For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Flöha, Forstarbeit, Bergen von Holz ADN-ZB Thieme 6.2.87 Bez. Karl-Marx-Stadt: Forstwirtschaft. Die extremen Temperaturen und starken Schneefälle im Januar haben an die Forstarbeiter hohe Anforderungen gestellt. Im Forstwirtschaftsbetrieb Flöha gibt es gegenwärtig Schneehöhen zwischen 50 und 80 Zentimeter. Wo die Rücketechnik durch den zu hohen Schnee nicht mehr arbeiten kann, ist der Einsatz von Pferden unersätzlich.
