For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Vahldorf, Gesammelte Kartoffelkäfer, Prämienzahlung Zentralbild Biscan 10.6.1952 Junge Pioniere helfen den Bauern. Die Jungen Pioniere der Pionierfreundschaft "Walter Ulbricht" in Vahldorf Kreis Haldensleben haben sich die Aufgabe gestellt, den Kartoffelkäfer, der unsere Ernteerträge bedroht, mit allen Mitteln zu bekämpfen. Die Jungen Pioniere helfen so mit, Verluste zu verhüten und eine hohe Ernte sicherzustellen. Allein der Junge Pionier Bodo Adamek hat schon rund 2000 Kartoffelkäfer abgeliefert. UBz: Die Kartoffelkäfer werden mit der Gemeindesekretärin Martha Bettermann (rechts) genau verrechnet. Für jeden Käfer gibt es einen Pfennig Prämie, bis Ende Mai wruden sogar 3 Pfennig Prämie gezahlt, bis 10. Juni 2 Pfennig. vlnr: Die Jungen Pioniere Magdalena Arndt und Bodo Adamek.
