For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Großottersleben, Obergärtner im Gespräch Der erste große Windschutzgürtel entsteht. Nach dem Vorbild der Sowjetunion werden jetzt auch in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik zum Schutz von Landstrichen, die der Gefahr der Versteppung ausgesetzt sind, Windschutzgürtel angelegt. Besonders ist es die Magdeburger Börde, die unter immer stärker werdender Wassernot leidet. - Die Regierung hat für Anpflanzung von 400.000 Wildbäumen und Sträuchern sowie 6000 Obstbäumen im Kreise Wanzleben allein die Summe von DM 250.000 bereit gestellt. UBz: "Wir werden die Natur ändern, den Boden schützen und noch fruchtbarer machen", erklärt Obergärtner Josef Ringel, Großottersleben, einer der Fachleute, die hier nach sowjetischem Muster den ersten Windschutzgürtel der DDR anlegen. Ringel ist Umsiedler aus der CSR und setzt seine ganze Kraft dafür ein, seiner neuen Heimat einen Dienst zu erweisen.
