Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is 42 year old Bridget Bishop of Michael Street, Waterford. She was married to confectioner Walter Bishop (54), and is pictured here with a slightly tattered copy of The Lady of the House, the prop of choice for married ladies at Poole Photographic Studios. All in all, Bridget looks quite satisfied with her lot in life.

The 1901 census also tells us that the Bishops shared their home with housekeeper Mary Jane McIntyre (31) and a boarder, Thomas Quirke (40), who was a baker from Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
