Summary[edit]

Description The so-called "bomb farm" abreast the island of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Ranger (CVA-61), containing unfinned napalm canisters. Mutiple ejector racks are visible on the right, and the boxes hanging over the side were uses as lockers for ready flares. As Ranger started her last deployment to Vietnam on 16 November 1972, this photo was probably taken during the preceding deployment from 27 October 1970 to 17 June 1971.
