No. 2 SCARLET GLOBE RADISH.
Bolgriano's No. 2 Scarlet Globe Radish.
Is the best in every way. It is handsome in form and
color, a beautiful oval and rich scarlet. The amount of
its foliage is small compared with other varieties, and
small for the size of the radish. "The peculiar merit
of this variety as a forcing radish is that it will bear
the hea requisite for forcing without becoming pithy
or spongy. The flesh is tender, juicy and mild. It is
equally as good for open garden culture as for forc-
ing, and, therefore, it commends itself equally to the
amateur and market gardener. Packet, 5c. Ounce,
10c. i Pound, 20c. 1 Pound, 60c.
^French Breakfast Radish.— Quick growth
^mild and tender, good for forcing — Packets, 5c. and
10c. i Pound, 15c. 1 Pound, 40c.
A
NEW GLASS RADISH.
New Glass Radish. — Quick growth, small top, bright color —
The best forcing radish. This billliant uniform radish is not so
large as the Long Scarlet Radish, but is similar in form, and holds its
size without losing its nice proportions. It is slow to run to seed.
Market gardeners find it satisfies the market demand, and sells
better than other long radishes — Packet, 5c. Ounce 10c. \ Pound,
15c. \ Pound, 25c. Pound, 40c. Plant at once and see what a
good radish it is. For sale only in our own sealed packages.

SCARLET TFRNTP WHITE TIP RADISH.
CARLET TURNIP WHITE TIP RADISH.
Nature almost exhausted itself in making 1 this beautiful radish to
ornament the private table and embellish the market stall. It has been
brought to our market in two weeks after planting-, and always is a very
earl j- crop for frames and for open ground culture. Some gardeners use it in
100-pound lots. It is annually grown more and more, and in demand every-
where— Packet, 5c. Ounce, 10c. \i Pound, 15c. ,S Pound. 250. 1 Pour.
Culture of Radish.— Radishes thrive best in a light, rich, mellow
soil, and to bring out their mild qualities they must make a quirk and tender
growth. Sow for very early use in hot-beds (luring the winter and early
spring, or later on in sheltered borders, in well-manured, deeply dug and
finely raked soil: if not well stimulated into a rapid g owtb, they l i
fibrous and tough: sow in drills 10 inches apart, and thin to - inches in the
rows. Sow at intervals of two or three weeks until September for a suc-
cession. Sow winter varieties in July and Augu6 r . Like the turnip, they
make the best growth in autumn, and must be taken out before severe
frost, and stored away in a cool cellar in sand, or a pir. where they will keep
tender and crisp all winter; before using put in cold water, which adc'"' to

their freshness. .

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.
