Description
Deutsch: Ehrenmal auf dem Friedhof Bochum-Hamme zum Gedenken an die Verunglückten durch die Schlagwetterexplosion 1936 auf der 9. Sohle der Zeche Vereinigte Präsident.
English: Memorial for the 28 victims of the mine accident on pit 'Vereinigte Präsident' in 1936. The memorial was designed by the artist Wilhelm Wulff. Only few parts of it follow the restrict guidelines for arts of the regime during the national-socialist period from 1933 to 1945. Just the miner in the middle symbolizes the archetype of an aryan athlete, the outer persons look like men in mourning. Also the legend is reserved, typically national-socialist terms are missing.
