Description
English: Bent and broken fragment of medieval/post-medieval purse frame, broken at both ends, C-shaped section, broken across first surviving letter of incomplete engraved Latin inscription: ]OM PATRAV[ (meaning uncertain) It probably once contained niello. The inner edge of the frame is pierced by two small perforations, one incomplete at damaged terminal. Unbent extant length 80mm. Width 7mm. Cf. Margeson (1993), fig.24, no.290. Late 15th-early 16th century.
