Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bailey Mill, Delph A splendidly derelict mill that is popular with the urban explorers.

Fellow Geograph member Chris Hodrien has added the following information: -

The company's name is still displayed on a stone tablet high up randomly among the windows on the main elevation - an unusual position. The low single-storey pitch-roofed sections in the foreground right of the chimney (the rear one now roof-less and blocked by a large modern metal water storage tank) are clearly the original boiler houses, although the boiler settings were thoroughly stripped out some time ago in working days. Can any reader help in identifying the exact location of the original engine(s), of which there is no obvious sign?

A very fine example of a tall substantial stone 3-storey house with weaver's workshop top windows can be found at the main A road crossroads just to North-east at SD987074
