Русский: В годы Первой мировой войны все участвовавшие в ней страны использовали плакаты как средство мобилизации усилий своего населения, направленных на выполнение военных задач страны. Австралия вела войну на стороне своей метрополии, Великобритании. Австралийские войска понесли тяжелые потери в кампании на Галлиполи, а также в битвах на западном фронте. Поскольку армия несла значительные человеческие потери, организовывались кампании по привлечению в армию новых добровольцев. Данный плакат неизвестного художника призывает к духу преданности Британской империи, который был весьма силен среди австралийцев. На нем изображен кенгуру перед цифрой 50 000, а на заднем плане — силуэты сражающихся солдат.

L'Australie a combattu au côté de sa "mère patrie", la Grande-Bretagne. Les soldats australiens ont subi de lourdes pertes durant la campagne de Gallipoli et dans les tranchées sur le front occidental. Les pertes ont conduit à des campagnes de recrutement destinées à enrôler de nouveaux soldats. Cette affiche, réalisée par un artiste non identifié, fait appel au fort sentiment de loyauté envers la Grande-Bretagne ressenti par le peuple australien. Elle montre un kangourou face au numéro 50 000 et, à l'arrière-plan, les silhouettes de soldats au combat.

Australia fought on the side of its “mother country,” Great Britain. Australian soldiers suffered heavy casualties in the Gallipoli campaign and in the trenches on the Western front. Casualties led to recruiting drives intended to attract new enlistments. This poster by an unidentified artist appeals to the strong sense of loyalty to Britain felt by the Australian people. It shows a kangaroo in front of number 50,000 and in the background a silhouette of soldiers in battle.
