Description
English: Atlas Curieux oder Neuer und Compendieuser Atlas. This atlas is the main work of Gabriel Bodenehr a German cartographer from a renowned engraver and publisher family in Augsburg. Includes 101 engraved folded plates listed in contents, with 99 maps and 3 tables. Most maps outline hand colored. Compared to the list of content there is one additional map of Russia numbered 102 added at the end and table of distance added on verso of front cover. Engraved double page title, letterpress foreword and contents. Including: 4 double hemisphere world maps, hydrographic map, maps of continents, the first four maps relate to America, detailed maps of Europe and European countries. Many maps with decorative title cartouche. Some maps are in Latin. Bound in soft leather wallet style covers.
