English: "Ashoka's Buddha Statue" (551 AD; also referred to as "Sichuanese Ashoka-type Buddha" by Professor Angela Falco Howard in her article "Pluralism of Styles in Sixth-Century China: A Reaffirmation of Indian Models"), uncovered in 1995 beneath the Xi'an Road in Chengdu, Sichuan.
