Summary[edit]

Description
English: An Army Reserve photographer of the Media Operations Group (MOG)taking pictures of fellow reservists during a Media Challenge exercise in Cyprus.

Around 45 members of the Media Operations Group, a Reserve unit of the British Army, deployed to Cyprus in the first two weeks of June, to test their military and media skills. The unit is made up of media professionals from all areas of the industry, who are also Territorial Army personnel, who have served and continue to serve all over the world on operations and exercises.

Deployments have included Afghanistan, Iraq, the Balkans, and on exercises to Botswana, Kenya and Nepal, as well as all over the UK, in support of the Regular Army. The two week exercise in Cyprus included a challenging military training package on the ranges at Dhekelia , in the east of the country, followed by a deployment into the field, on Exercise Media Challenge, based in Akrotiri, to put their military and media skills into practice. Planners, analysts, Combat Camera Teams and Media Foreign area specialists were some of the skills exercises, while delivering essential training to other troops on the ground in a joint exercise with Permanent Joint Headquarters personnel from Northwood, in London.
