Description
English: Arlington House and National Park Service volunteer Dave Pearson leads a group towards the marker of Union Gen. Philip Sheridan in Section 2 of Arlington National Cemetery on a grave tour featuring Union Army officers who were present at Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee’s surrender to Union Gen. Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865. Sheridan is buried less than 100 yards from Arlington House. The Arlington, Va., event commemorated the 150th anniversary of Lee’s surrender.
