Notes Portrait du maréchal de Gramont à la fin de sa vie, au moment où il est davantage présent dans ses gouvernements pyrénéens et loge au château vieux de Bayonne ou à Bidache. Dans le donjon de son château de Bidache, Antoine III a fait aménager une bibliothèque dont s'occupe son secrétaire Arnaud d'Oïhenart (Mauléon 1592 -Saint-Palais 1667), auteur de "Notitia utriusque Vasconiae" (1638), premier ouvrage d'histoire générale du Pays Basque, et de proverbes et poésies en langue basque (jusqu'en 1665)
