Scrotum—Is a sac or bag made up externally by a layer of skinwhich has been continued from the sheath, abdomen and flanks.This skin is smooth, soft and hairless compared with the otherintegument on the body. The scrotum consists of two cavitiesdivided by a longitudinal raphe (median line). Below the skin 20 Animal Castration is the dortos which forms the scrotal tunic proper and consistsof thin clastic tissue and muscle. The dortos is a continuation ofthe abdominal fascia. Under the dortos is the spermatic fasciawhich is a continuation of the external oblique muscle. Thismuscle is attached to the external abdominal ring.
