Description
English: An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy purse frame, dating from AD 1500-1600. The remains of the purse frame consist of an incomplete curved arm with two remaining sewing holes. At one end are the remains of half of the loop projection. The other end has broken at the edge of what was a third sewing hole. The frame is V-shaped in cross-section with a concave underside. There is no further decoration visible. The object has a light green colour with light brown patina in places.

The object was identified as a purse frame by David Williams, FLO for Surrey. Simlar examples have been recorded onto the PAS database as record, cf. YORYM-BD44A9, and date to the 16th century.

Dimensions: length: 39.49 mm; width: 28.87 mm; weight: 9.98g.
