Notes | The composition of this "Last Supper" is quite unusual, with three characters isolated. Jesus is show revealing John as his favorite, right after announcing the betrayal to his apostles. The third character may be Judas himself, or St. Peter. The paintings reflects the influence of Caravaggio and the drawing of the main figures suggests the manner of Orazio Gentileschi (1563-1639) and his daughter Artemisia (1593-1656). | |||||||||||||||||||||||
