at the top of the openings. The door posts rivets on each side. These are at the carlines where the sheet isbumped down and a Ya • rivet passes through the sheet, car-line and outwardly extending leg of the angle forming the plate.At the end of the car, the carline is formed of a 4 in. x 6 in. x38 in. angle of the proper shape, and the roof sheets extend overit and are secured to it by a large number of Yi in. rivets. Herethe eaves are carried over in the same manner as at the sides. The running boards are fastened to two short sections ofZ-bars, riveted directly to the carlines and through the roofsheets as is shown in the illustration. The wooden side Hning is secured on the inside of the frameat the top by means of a J^ in. x 2^4 in. bar on the inside ofthe lining, which is held by Y\ in- bolts passing through theplate and with nuts on the inside. It will be noted that the topof the lining is somewhat below the top of the plate and that be- 506 AMERICAN ENGINEER. ,CL. 86, No. 10.
