Description

Ambulance américaine ( SSU) marqué sur le côté signifie Section Sanitaire Américaine. Les soldats US ici sont de la 8ème Brigade d'infanterie américaine ( 58èm, 59èm regiments d'infanterie américain, 12ème bataillon de mitrailleurs américains) cette 8ème Brigade appartient à la 4ème Division américaine qui fût attaché à la 164ème Division d'infanterie francaise en juillet 1918. Saint Gengoulph se trouve pas très loin de Belleau, c'est dans ce secteur que la 164ème DI Francaise reprend l'offensive le 18 juillet 1918, avec en support la 8ème brigade d'infnaterie américaine -commentaire Gilles Lagin Honorary Marine US Marine Corps.

American Ambulance (SSU American Sanitary Section. U.S.) soldiers here are probably from the U.S. 8th Infantry Brigade (58th, 59th Infantry Regiments U.S. U.S. 12th Battalion Machine Gun) that belongs to the 8th Brigade 4th Division American who was attached to the 164th Infantry Division French in July 1918. St. Gengoulph is not very far from Belleau, it is here that the 164th DI French start the offensive in July 18, 1918, with the 8th Brigade in support of U.S. infantry
