Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is a 40x-magnification optical micrograph of the Am-241 alpha radiation source button from the ionization chamber of an ionization-type smoke detector. The center gold foil is ~0.2 mm thick; it contains approximately 37 kBq/1 nmol/241 ng of americium-241 in the form of americium(IV) oxide.
