Description
Photo from 1924 sale catalog of Frederik Muller & Cie., Amsterdam, called "Portrait de Bianca Cappello, épouse du Duc François de Médicis (1542-1587)". At the time the painting was in the collection of the Grand Dukes of Oldenburg, the sitter was thought to be the famous Bianca Cappello, second wife of Francesco I de' Medici, but this identification is not accepted by current critics.
