Description

Hidden-petaled abutilon Malvaceae Endemic to the Hawaiian Islands (Lānaʻi only) Endangered Oʻahu (Cultivated)

Etymology The generic name Abutilon is derived from the Arabic awbūtīlūn (’abū ṭīlūn), for malvaceous (mallow-like) plants.

The specific epithet eremitopetalum literally means "hidden petaled."
