Date
Source

Original publication: Probably painted in Croydon where he had moved after his marriage in 1879

Immediate source: My private collection (acquired at the auction of household effects that took place in the palace of King Carol of Rumania, in Estoril, Portugal, in 1987, following Elena Lupescu's death, ten years earlier)
Author

George Paice

(Life time: 1854-1925)
Note: Might this impressive dog be not an english setter as I firstly thought, but a late XIX century (1883) wavy coated black retriever?
Other information

{{en|1= Original oil painting. Soft wood original stretcher.
