Summary[edit]

Description A Typical 17th Century Melange. While the Renaissance renewed interest in ancient art and thus saved the few remaining classic sculptures from the lime kilns, the wealthy collectors often "restored" or "completed" broken pieces in interesting ways. This piece appears to be composed of bits of sculptures of Aphrodite, Hermaphrodite (with her/his breasts hacked off by restorers) and an athlete.
