Summary[edit]

Description

Charles Hale Hoyt's A Day and a Night in New York. Hoyt & McKee, proprietors.

The name of the lead actress is Clairiesse (or Clarisse) Agnew.

Clarisse Robinson, known to the stage as Clarisse Agnew, and to society as Mrs. Daniel G. Reid, died at her country home at Irvington-on-the-Hudson yesterday after a lingering illness of several months. She was the daughter of a small hotel keeper at Belvedere, Cal., and when sixteen years of age went on the stage as a chorus girl, being famed for her personal beauty. This secured her a place on a Broadway stage, when Mr. Reid, then a widower, first saw her. In September, 1900, they were married, and a year later Mrs. Reid entered society here, the reids having a town house at 875 Fifth Avenue, though most of their time was passed at their country house at Irvington. – New York Times, 30 November 1904.
