Summary[edit]

Description
English: There are pre-Spanish colonial historical records that Filipinos possesses a variety of anting-antings or agimat (amulets and talismans) power objects that are used for to suit every needs such as protection from other people, from the supernatural entities or to all kinds of harms, to make one be in love with you, to attract wealth, and to have superhuman powers such as invisibility, superhuman strength, and not being cut by a knife or any sharp objects, anting-anting comes in various shapes, designs and forms. It is widely known that people on the armies, in the police or members or fraternities or gangs usually carry these amulets with them for added protection or to give them super strength especially in combats.

In order to activate the power or magic of these talismans, you have to follow some rituals religiously, offer something and feed them with prayers and orations which is usually in Latin language constantly. It is believed that you can boost the potential power of the amulet during Good Friday of the Holy Week.

Even though there is no scientific explanation for these so called magic objects, still some Filipinos patronize the power that the anting-antings hold.
