Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_84718_DSC_104.jpg Notes: מתוך סדרת נופי צומח עצי ושיחי תרבות של עוזי פז. עץ תרבות נשיר, בעל ענפים מאונקלים, המתנשא לגובה 2-6 מ',נופו רחב וענפיו מלבינים, הגזע נמוך וקליפתו אפורה , כמעט חלקה.התאנה מתחילה להניב פרי לאחר 4 שנים, והאסיף הקרוי ארייה, מתארך כיוון שהפרי אינו מבשיל בבת אחת. לפירות התאנה אין חיי מדף ארוכים, לכן משמרים אותם ע"י ייבוש- אלו הדבלים, שבימי אבותינו שימשו כמזון יסודי.היום גדלים עצי תאנה רבים לצדי מעיינות, בבורות מים עתיקים ובבוסתנים עזובים, ופירותיהם מתוקים ואכילים.
