Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_81586_חומעת האווירון_07.jpg Notes: מתוך סדרת נופי צומח צמחי מישור החוף של עוזי פז.חוּמְעַת האווירון (שם מדעי: Rumex aeroplaniformis; גם Rumex rothschildianus, ראו בהמשך) היא מין צמח חד-שנתי נדיר, אנדמי למישור החוף של ארץ ישראל, בעבר היה הצמח נפוץ בכל מישור החוף, אך כיום הוא גדל ב 2-3 אתרים בלבד באזור חוף השרון למרות שבכל אתר צמחים רבים. הצמח נמצא והוגדר על ידי הבוטנאי הארץ-ישראלי אהרון אהרונסון בשנת 1906, אשר נתן לו את השם הלטיני "רומקס רוטשילדיאנוס" (Rumex rothschildianus) ע"ש הברון רוטשילד.
