Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_80924_הר הטייסים מקור_13.jpg Notes: מתוך סדרת נופי צומח עצי חורש של עוזי פז. עוזרר אדום הוא עץ נמוך, עד 8 מ', נשיר-חורף, קוצני, מסועף. הענף לביד בצעירותו, קליפתו חומה,קצהו קוצני. העלה משולש–יתדי, בסיסו מוצר בהדרגה לקראת הפטוטרת, קצהו שסוע ל-3–5 אונות, אורכו 3–5 ס"מ, מרקמו נוטה לגלדני. העלים מלבלבים במרס, נושרים באוקטובר. העץ דומה ביותר לעוזרר קוצני, הנפוץ מאוד, וההבדל הנוח והבטוח להבדיל ביניהם הוא רק בצבע הפרי. העץ בולט בנוף הסתיו בהיותו מכוסה כולו בפירות אדומים זוהרים. הזרעים מופצים על-ידי ציפורים האוכלות את הפרי.
