Deutsch: Pluto. Clair-obscur-Holzschnitt von drei Platten in Schwarz, Grau und Hellgrau, im Oval. 34,2 x 25,8 cm. Um 1588-90. B. 233, Hirschmann 369, Hollstein 369, Bialler 29 a (von c).
Aus der Folge der Götterdarstellungen. Ganz ausgezeichneter, kräftiger Druck mit prägnantem, rückseitigen Relief. Wie von Bialler für die frühen Drucke angegeben mit den grau gefärbten Tonplatten und dem noch sichtbaren unteren Rand am obersten Ausguß der Urne. Partiell mit feinem Rändchen um die Einfassungslinie, sonst auf diese geschnitten. Sorgsam ausgebesserter Riß, der vom Rand bis zum linken Fußknöchel reicht, einzelne kleinere Ausbesserungen in den Randzonen, rückseitig unbedeutend fleckig, sonst sehr gut erhaltenes Exemplar. |
