Summary[edit]

Description
English: Reels from a 70mm release print of "Malcolm X' (1992), taken outside the projection booth of the Egyptian Theatre, Hollywood, on February 28, 2015. This photo shows the form in which 70mm prints are typically shipped to movie theaters worldwide. The weight of the film stock, reels and shipping containers make the cost of shipping significant, and is a major reason why the format has been in decline since the early 1990s.
